In collaboration with Wikimedia Italia, Wikimedia CH will be the cultural sponsor of the Classic Car Circuit Campione from 4 to 7 September. At this event, visitors will learn about the history of the greatest champions of the 1930s and 1940s: Nuvolari, Cortese, Lurani and Trossi and see the world of classic cars.
With the support of Wikimedia CH and Wikimedia Italia, Wikipedians are taking this event as an opportunity to revisit the culture and history of motorsport in Campione and transfer it to the digital world of Wikipedia and its sister platforms. This special chapter in motorsport history will thus be freely accessible to everyone around the world.
At the Wikimedia stand, visitors will have the opportunity to meet representatives of the two associations and active Wikipedians, ask questions and learn more about the work on the wiki platforms. Wikipedia articles and entries on Open Street Map will be updated on site. We will be happy to explain how this works and how you can get involved directly if you wish.
