The annual conference of the Italian-speaking Wikimedia community will take place in Switzerland, in the canton of Ticino, for the first time. From 6 to 8 November 2026, the historic Centro Studi Villa Negroni building in Vezia (Lugano) will serve as a meet-up spot for contributors to the Italian-language Wikimedia projects. This is another highlight in the series of events marking the double anniversary of 25 years of Wikipedia and 20 years of Wikimedia CH, which is being celebrated in 2026.
One of the event’s aims has always been to provide room for workshops, discussion panels and presentations. In addition, this year’s focus will of course be on international exchange between Switzerland, Italy and Malta.
This year’s organising team, consisting of volunteers and staff from the Swiss and Italian chapters, began meeting regularly several weeks ago to steadily advance planning regarding logistics and the programme.
