La Digitale is a French micro-enterprise that develops free digital educational tools for schools and universities. These tools are designed to provide teaching and learning resources, while being free software and respecting personal data protection. Wikipedia CH and the Haute école de gestion du canton de Vaud (HEIG) in collaboration with the company have now completed a intrusion test.
The Digipad application, which is the subject of this intrusion test, is an open-source web application that allows users to create collaborative multimedia walls. It allows users to upload documents, images, videos and links to a shared space. This application is mainly aimed at the education sector and will soon be deployed in a test phase by the French Ministry of National Education.
La Digitale (in the future, on ‘Digipad’) is also highly appreciated in French-speaking Switzerland by teachers and students in the field of digital education. As part of Wikimedia CH’s 22-26 education strategy, the Education Programme has entered into a partnership with La Digitale (in the form of a Memorandum of Understanding) in order to be able to put teaching and learning activities online in the future to teach how Wiki tools work and how to use them in a didactic way.
But before, the security of this open source educational platform (Digipad) had to be tested. The main objective of this intrusion test was to assess the security of the Digipad application and its associated infrastructure and to identify potential vulnerabilities.
In partnership with Wikimedia CH, the Haute école d’ingénierie et de gestion du Canton de Vaud (HEIG) presented its first La Digitale (Digipad) penetration testing report on 20 January 2026. The security of the application is generally good. Only one exploitable vulnerability was found and no critical vulnerabilities allowing remote code execution or system compromise were identified.
