This year’s International Archives Week will take place from June 8 to June 14, 2020 and focus on “Empowering Knowledge Societies”. It is an initiative of International Council on Archives (ICA). To support this event and its objectives, the Wikimedia associations of Switzerland, Austria and Germany invite contributors to complete and improve the presence of Archives on Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons and Wikidata.
This is a joint initiative between Wikimedia CH, Wikimedia Austria, Wikimedia Germany and the Association of Swiss Archivists.
The geographic map about Archives
The WMCH Map Service locates Archives in Switzerland, Austria and Germany, based on Wikidata records. It indicates which archives already have a Wikipedia article. If you are a Wikidata expert, help us to improve this tool and inject additional meta data into Wikidata to complete the information base for archives in Switzerland, Austria, and Germany.
How to contribute
Participants are invited to update, correct, complete, and to create articles about Archives on Wikipedia, upload images on Wikimedia Commons and inject meta data on Wikidata. We have set-up an outreach dashboard. If you want to enroll and assign the articles or categories
