In June 2023, the team of Wikimedia CH welcomed two new staff members in the field of fundraising and membership management as well as in the Education programme. We are glad to have them on board now.
Clara Wiest (on the left) joined us as Operations and Development Officer
In her new role she is taking care of fundraising, membership management and Board administration. Clara studied Social and Cultural Anthropology in Germany, France, and Tanzania. Part of her studies consisted of ethnographic research projects in DR Congo, Kenya and Tanzania. Before joining our team, she worked for a German NGO that implements medical and social projects in Kenya.
She is passionate for different cultures and languages, as well as for questions of morals and ethics when different cultures come together. Clara moved from France to Basel in March 2023 and she is excited to get to know Switzerland’s diverse cultures.
She is native German and speaks English, French, Portuguese, Swahili, and has basic knowledge of Lingala. She also just started learning some Italian.
Clara is convinced of the importance of spreading knowledge and tools to learn for everyone, regardless of their social or cultural background. For her, taking part in the greatest human project of free knowledge and digitalisation for a free world is an important step in moving forward professionally and personally.
Daniela Mor (on the right) works as Education Expert (Manager)
She was born in a small town in Zürich and grew up bilingual in Italian and Swiss German. After attending school in Ticino and a linguistic Matura, including French and English, she studied in Zurich and in Ticino where she graduated in communication and obtained an Executive Master in the intercultural field at the Swiss Italian University (USI) in 2007.
After some freelance activities in Project Management, Public relations and fundraising she entered into the Education sector, obtained a Federal Trainer Diploma in adult teaching subsequently and simultaneously certified as a trainer in the field of integration and collaborates with several associations and foundations as a trainer in Italian and German and coach in the field of reinsertion in the labour market implementing strategies like flipped classroom, experiential teaching, and co-constructive settings in virtual and in presence classrooms.
Wikipedia represents a daily knowledge source for her; she is enthusiastic to work with all of you and to develop new ways of spreading free knowledge for all.
Please join us in welcoming both to our team!
